What to wear:

Don’t miss the opportunity to learn from the performance professionals & 2014/2015 WORLD CHAMPIONS!

Studentsare required to be intermediate dancers to take this course.

Students interested in joining this course need to register and specify their level. This is a “registration only” course, drop ins are not allowed. Only high int. to adv. students can join this class. You don’t need a partner to join; students without a partner will be paired up by compatibility. Those registering as couples will remain together.

This SPECIAL PERFORMANCE COURSE is designed for dancers interested in performing. Students will be taught a routine of approximately 2 minutes in length. The routine will contain a mix of turn patterns, shines and some tricks/dips. Students will also learn styling, body movements, technique and showmanship which are key items when performing.

 Wedding Classes

At Latin Energy you may choose to learn any Latin dance choreography of your choice. Our most popular requests are wedding first dance but we also offer any kind of choreography for Sweet 16, Quinceañera, etc.

Your Special Wedding Dance

LATIN ENERGY offers pre-wedding dance classes / first wedding dance choreography for your special day!

We also provide pre-wedding lessons to the bridal party, bridal shower/party, and stagette/bachlorette. Or… just hire our professional dancers to perform at your reception!

Most of our students complete a short choreography within five (1hour) private dance lessons! Depending on the length of the song or complexity of the dance choreography, it may take up to 10. Our experienced instructors can help you choose a song if you don’t already have one, we can even edit the song for you!

 Competition Classes

Latin Energy has been competing and teaching students competition choreographies since the year 2000. Vanesa Stay is currently one of the World Latin Dance Cup Judges and has choreographed many winning routines including the Dec. 2015 & 2014 WLDC Fist Place Salsa, Tango & Second Place Bachata in the world!

Competitions are for anyone who wishes to challenge themselves and bring their dancing to the next level. There are competitions for everyone starting at 3 years old to the sky is the limit!

Latin Energy goes to Miami every year for the biggest championship held by Albert Torres Productions. There are over 40 divisions to choose from from Amateur to Pro-Am to Pro.

 Kids Lessons

Parents! This is the opportunity to get your kids involved in a healthy, fun and challenging activity!!! Bring your kids down and we’ll teach them the basics of salsa.

Learning to dance is a very important part of a child’s growth just like math and science. Kids can use what they learn through dancing as a way to express their feelings and communicate with their body.

Below you may watch Jenalyn & Raymond dancing salsa at the Miami World Latin Dance Cup. They started training with Latin Energy in 2005 and they are now 2 times World Salsa Junior Champions. Jenalyn started at the age of 5 and Raymond, her brother was 7. They are now 15 and 17 years old, Pro Dancers, and they travel and teach all over the world!

 Specialty Workshop

Latin Energy offers specialty workshops by Latin Energy’s instructors as well as local and international guest instructors.

 Semi Privates

Semi-private lessons are meant for people who have their own small group of friends or family and wish to learn together but not as part of our regular weekly group lessons. These small groups, may choose their own lesson times with any instructor. Please contact us for a quote.

• 2 COUPLES – 1 HR SemiPrivate – $35 per student
• 3 COUPLES – 1 HR SemiPrivate – $30 per student

Off Site Lessons

Let us make your event a FUN and unforgettable one by adding a fun dance lesson by one of our qualified and entertaining instructors. We can offer any length lesson from 30 min and more.

You may choose to have your lesson taught by 1 or more instructors.

To register in this class, you do not need to know anything about this dance or have any dance background. You will be taught the basic steps, technique, some turns and timing of the music. [su_spoiler title=”Salsa Beginner Level 2 Course”] Students who have completed Level 1 and already know the basic steps & turns may join our level 2 even if you did your level 1 at another school. In Beginner Salsa Level 2 you will learn travelling turns, patterns, technique, footwork and musicality. [/su_spoiler]
[su_spoiler title=”Salsa Beginner Level 3 Course”] Students who have completed Level 1 and 2, may join our Level 3 course. There will be a combination of turn patterns and footwork taught along with musicality and styling. Some of the moves include: Copa, Around the World, Hand Drop, etc.[/su_spoiler]
[su_spoiler title=”Salsa Intermediate Level 4 Course”] Students who have completed levels 1to 3 courses may join our Low Int. Level 4, or for students who have taken at least 18 salsa dance lessons. Ladies, learn to dance with elegance and grace! In this group you will learn to add sexy body/hip movements to any step and improve your posture. Integrate graceful arm and hand styling to your dancing. Among other things, you will also learn the proper technique to spin and spot so you won’t lose your balance or get dizzy! You will also learn body rolls, foot placement and head whips!

During this course you will learn:

• Feminine & sensual hand, arm, foot and leg styling (CBL with swivel, ATW with boleo, hooks, etc.)
• Mini-shine routine
• Spinning and spotting technique (stationary and traveling spins)
• Multiple spot turns technique (prep)
• Creating clean lines with your styling (styling is a continuation of body movement)
• Head rolls, “sharp looks”, head whip back
• Add flavor, personality & facial expressions to all your moves!
• Foot & knee positioning
• Proper transfer of weight to enhance grounding and balance (CBL) & HIP action
• Body isolation technique (Body movement, shoulders, rib cage, shimmies, body waves)
• Tips to become a light and fast follower
• Frame / resistance
• Creating clean lines (lengthening, posture, complete moves)

[su_spoiler title=”Argentine Tango Beginner Level 1 Course”] No partner required. No experience required. Meant for beginners interested in learning the basics of Tango. To register in this class, you do not need to know anything about this dance or have any dance background. You will be taught the basic steps, technique and timing of the music. Including: Walk in Parallel System, Walk in Cross System, Walk with changes of weight inside and outside or partner, Forward, Side and Back steps technique, Box step, Basic step, Ladies Cross, Forward and Back Ocho (figure eight), Rebounds, etc. [/su_spoiler]
[su_spoiler title=”Argentine Tango Intermediate Course”] Students who have completed Tango Beginner and already know the basic steps & footwork may join our Int. Tango even if you did your Tango Basics at another school. You will learn challenging figures, syncopated footwork, technique and musicality. [/su_spoiler]
[su_spoiler title=”Salsa Cuban Style – CASINO RUEDA Course”] This course is offered only a few times a year upon demand. Visit our schedule often or send us a request. What is Casino Rueda or Cuban Style Salsa??? Rueda de Casino (Rueda, Casino Rueda, Salsa Rueda) is a particular type of round dancing of Salsa. It was developed in Havana, Cuba in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Pairs of dancers form a circle, with dance moves called out by one person, a caller (or “líder” or “cantante” in Spanish). Many moves have hand signs to complement the calls; these are useful in noisy venues, where spoken calls might not be easily heard. Many moves involve the swapping of partners. [/su_spoiler]
[su_spoiler title=”Salsa – Tricks and Dips Technique Workshop”] This workshop is offered only a few times a year upon demand. On this special workshop you will learn technique and safety to perform a dip or a trick gracefully and with hardly any effort… that’s what technique is all about. Some dips or tricks look too complex and people think they require a lot of “muscle” but once you’re shown the proper technique behind the move, you’ll realize how achievable and safe these moves really are.

[su_spoiler title=”Salsa – Shines (footwork)”] Every song is composed with an “interlude” or “instrumental” section where the couple should dance their own footwork instead of partner work. This section of the song is called the “shines” section. During this course you will learn how to do shines (footwork) SOLO (with no partner) with arm styling, timing and technique. You’re not only going to learn how to “shine” dancing on your own but you’ll get a work-out too! [/su_spoiler]

Vanesa Stay is a certified Yoga teacher. She studied Yoga in Rishikesh, India. Vanesa applies her experience and knowledge of dance postures into her Yoga practice making her Yoga style of teaching very unique and graceful. Vanesa has also studied Yoga philosophy, asana, pranayama, mantra, meditation, anatomy & visualization making her classes easy to follow but still challenging, balanced and energizing.
